Dr. Pratik Shukla
ABOUT ME
Pratik began his academic career as a mechanical engineering student at Loughborough College (1999) and moved on to Coventry University where he obtained his BEng (Hons) sandwich degree in Manufacturing Systems and Engineering with a year out in the industry as a research engineer in laser-materials processing (2006). He then completed his MSc by research degree in shot/shock processing of advance ceramics in 2007 and worked as a manufacturing engineer in aerospace/industrial turbine blade manufacturing. Pratik then obtained his Ph.D. in laser processing at Loughborough University in 2011. Since then he has held international academic positions as a lecturer in Tongji University, China and at Sharda University, Delhi (India), followed by a research fellowship at the University of Lincoln (U.K.). His research interests are in laser materials processing and engineering ceramics. He has presented and published widely in this area, including a book and up to 25 journal/conference papers relating to laser-material interaction with technical grade ceramics in particular.
